What to Expect During Curtain Measurement and Installation Day

Planning to install curtains or blinds in your new BTO, condo, or resale home? Knowing what happens on measurement and installation day can help you prepare, avoid delays, and get the best results.

At HM Gallery, we make the curtain journey seamless—from first consultation to final installation. Here’s what you can expect during each stage.

1. Curtain Measurement Day: What Happens

Before any curtain is fabricated, a site measurement is scheduled—typically after your false ceiling, lighting, and carpentry are complete.

Here’s what our curtain specialist will do:

  • Measure each window’s height and width accurately

  • Check for obstacles (aircon trunking, lighting, switches, etc.)

  • Assess wall or ceiling materials for track installation

  • Advise on pleat styles (S-fold, double pleat, etc.) and curtain lengths

  • Finalize fabric choices, layering (day/night), and track systems

  • Note if motorized or zip blinds require electrical points or drilling

Pro Tip: Share your renovation floor plan or bring your ID’s design concepts for better coordination.

How Long Does It Take?

A typical on-site measurement takes:

  • 30–60 minutes for a 3-room flat

  • 60–90 minutes for larger condos or landed homes

You don’t need to prep the whole house—just make sure windows are accessible and clean.

2. Curtain Installation Day: What to Expect

Once fabrication is complete (usually 10–14 working days), we’ll schedule installation. This should be done after final cleaning or chemical wash to keep fabrics dust-free.

Our team will:

  • Drill and mount the curtain tracks or blind brackets

  • Hang and steam the curtains to remove creases

  • Calibrate motorized tracks (if applicable)

  • Test smooth operation of all systems

  • Provide care instructions and maintenance tips

HM Gallery uses non-rust tracks, professional drilling tools, and installs with minimal disruption to your existing ceiling or wall finishes.
